Photographic Truth Reflection
Our project for this class was to create a photographic truth. We were told to pick an event, show, or a movie. Then we had to find about 6 pictures of the event, show, or movie. When we had them we had to take pictures of ourselves to use for the photographic truth. I took several steps to the project. My first one was to think of what I liked and wanted to be in. I decided to pick the show “Jersey Shore” because is something I like and I enjoy watching. The following step was to gather the 6 pictures of the show, and then get 6 pictures of me to put myself in the pictures from the show. After gathering all my information I had to get to work and make it seem like I was really another member of “Jersey Shore”.
My book has six pictures of me and the “Jersey Shore” cast all at different events. My first one is at an event and we posed outside we all look casual. The second one is New Years which we are wearing all black. My third picture we are all in sitting position. My fourth picture we are at another event where we are dressed up and we also posed before going in. my fifth picture is a day at the beach we are all wearing swim suits and we are in the sand. My last picture is another event where we posed outside. In order to add myself to these pictures I had to use many tools. Some of the tools that I used were the lasso, the moving tool, the crop tool, I had to scale the image, and mess around with the colors.
The theme I chose to work with was a TV show called “Jersey Shore”. I chose this cause it’s a show that everyone is watching, I myself enjoy watching this as well. I think my presence alters the meaning of the image because I tried to make everything seem realistic. I tried to blend in as much as possible. Something else I did was I tried to dress the way they were in the pictures I had chosen.
Something I learned from the photographic this project was how to make me blend in with the pictures. From this project I learned how to use certain tools and how to use them in the correct way. I like this assignment it was cool and I felt like I was really there. It was a bit difficult but with help from others I pulled through with it. I think I was successful I took my time and I tried to make it as best as I can. If I was to do this project over I don’t think I would change anything I like everything the way it is now.

Lyrical Triptych
During first quarter our second our project was to create a lyrical triptych. We were told that we had to pick a song that we liked and find pictures that relate to the song. There were several steps to create the lyrical triptych one of them was to pick a song. The second step was to find pictures and colors that would relate to the mood of the song. The third and finally step was to combine all the pictures and colors by using tools from Photoshop. These were the steps I used to create the project.
In the first triptych I used a welcome to New York City sign and a picture of Time Square and a road sign. The second triptych I used a map, a male playing a guitar and a female listening to music. On the third triptych I used three pictures of couples. I chose the song Hey There Delilah by Plain White Tees. My triptych wasn’t as good as it could have been due to the fact of my absence my work had to be rushed. I know I could have done a better job with time.
The following tools I used in Adobe to create my triptych the move tool, the lasso tools, magic wand, the crop tool and also the blur tool. I used the filter tool and the adjustment tool to brighten the images and to clean up the images also. I created images that reflected the lyrics of my song by paying attention to the words. Also by paying attention to the small detail in the lyrics. I created a mood to the lyrics by listening to beat and by reading the words of the song. As of images I used a Delilah flower to represent the girl’s name. I also used colors to express the mood in the song this is. How I created images and moods to my lyrical triptych.
My experience in working with Photoshop was fantastic. I got to learn how many tools there are and how to use them. I also got to learn how many different things you can do to a picture. I like it because now in the future I can use what I’ve learned. Also because it now easier for me to use Photoshop and its many tools. I expressed my lyrical triptych to the best of my abilities but I could have been better but due to my absences it was rushed. If I were to have the chance to do the project again I would work harder by finding more images that describe the song with more detail.

Magazine Project
Magazine project reflection
In our class we were given an assignment based on a magazine. We had to pick a magazine that we can relate ourselves too. Our first step was to think about ourselves what we like. After we had to think how we could relate that to a magazine. We had to figure out what kind of language to use depending on the magazine and the audience. Then we thought about what to wear and how to pose due to what magazine we were on. When we were done with that the following step was to come up with a few headlines that we can use on our magazine they had to be short, snappy, and had to touch the audience who would read it. After figuring all that out I finally picked my magazine, which was Psychology Today, then I took my picture, I cropped it and put it on my magazine, I added a nice background to it. Finally I was done with my magazine.
My magazine title is Psychology Today. My background is an office I have a table a chair, my floor is rugged and I have a bookshelf. It’s well decorated. I have 3 headlines, which talk about body language, reality change and fast food. The middle of my magazine there is a full body picture of me in where I am standing. I am wearing black and blue, I have on a blue and black shirt black leggings, blue heels, and my hair is done straight. I posed with my left hand on my hip and I am also smiling its just a very presentable pose.
My magazine is based on psychology today, which just talks about different things that people stress and deal with. For my picture I picked an office, which just represents what a psychologist office can look like. My picture is basically who they can come and talk to. My colors pretty much just matched my clothes and as of my headlines I used 3, one of them was about fast food since a lot of people deal with it even if they might not want to. My purpose to my magazine was to reach out to those who need advice, someone to talk to, and so they know they aren’t the only ones dealing with similar problems.
According to the rubric I feel like my work is successful. I also know I could of did a better job but it was my fist time working with Photo Shop. I wasn’t really used to it and messed up a lot. I think I could improve using tools for example the wand and other tools that relate to cropping. I think I used a good picture and my background and colors where good I also think my headlines were easy to read and understand. This is my opinion about my magazine according to the rubric.
